Congratulations to Mr. Petrosky- RHS 2025 Teacher of the Year
I’m in my 9th year of teaching now, and what a journey it’s been! Teaching runs in my family—my grandparents, parents, cousin, and sister were all teachers. So, when I started feeling burned out working with cancer cells as a cytotechnologist and was thinking about a career change, my wife suggested I give teaching a try. I was pretty skeptical at first—I'd seen what teachers do, and it seemed like way too much work! But, I reluctantly started substitute teaching while I figured out what I really wanted to do. And then... something amazing happened. I fell in love with teaching! I’ve discovered how much I enjoy building meaningful relationships with students, making them feel heard, valued, and supported. Watching students overcome challenges, grow in confidence, and realize their potential is what keeps me so passionate about teaching. My goal is to help students develop the skills and mindset they need to thrive in a constantly changing world.
